On Tuesday night Inter crashed out of the Champions League despite winning the game by 1-0 against Liverpool at Anfield.

Liverpool, who scored 2 goals in the first leg at the San Siro successfully defended their lead in the second leg. Inter won the 2nd leg yes, but lost 2-1 on aggregate.

Martinez scored for Inter at the hour mark and provided the traveling Italian supporters a glimmer of hope, but 2 min later Alexis Sánchez was shown a red card, and 10 men Inter couldn’t complete the comeback.

Inter are out of the Champions League but they can be very proud of themselves as they made it to the knockout stage for the first time in a decade.

They have a long way to go before they can reclaim their former dominance, but they are undoubtedly on the right path.

With Champions League gone, Inter can put their entire focus on domestic matters.

They are set to play against Torino away from home, on Sunday night. Inter is 2 points behind their local rivals AC Milan, but Simone Inzaghi’s side has a game in hand.

AC Milan will face Empoli the night before on Saturday, and if they drop any points, Inter can top the table this game week itself.

Champions League disappointment can be shredded off by the opportunity to go on top of the table.

It’s Torino vs Inter Milan on Sunday night, and we will put this game under perspective!

During the 31 matches, inter has scored 51 goals compared to just 24 of Torino.

Form:

Although they will not be celebrating the latest one, which was at Anfield!

Tornio in their last 6 matches, which have all been in the Serie A, have lost thrice and had to settle for a point on 3 occasions.

Their last match was against Bologna and it ended in a 0-0 affair.

Inter Milan has won the Serie A 19 times, making them the country’s second most successful club after Juventus (36). AC Milan is ranked third with 18 Serie A titles. Inter also holds a unique record in that they have never been relegated from Serie A.

Torino has hosted Inter on 15 occasions and despite playing at home they have a terrible record against the Nerazzurri. Inter has won 10 times and lost only twice. The remaining three matches ended in a draw.

Prediction:

Looking at the history and recent form of these two sides, the odds are heavily against Torino.

To add to that, Inter after being knocked out of Europe will have their entire focus on the league and they will not miss out on the chance to potentially go top of the table.

The chances of salvaging anything from the game for Torino are slim, and not to forget a wounded lion is even more dangerous.

Inter after their Champions League disappointment should be able to bounce back against 11th placed Torino!
