Napoli vs. Roma – Betting Preview
Napoli welcome Roma to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Italy’s Serie A on Sunday, January 29th. Napoli are aiming to extend their already huge 12 point lead at the summit of the table with a victory over Roma this weekend.
With one hand on the Scudetto and three straight victories in Serie A, Napoli will be motivated to beat Roma on Sunday if they hope to continue their winning ways!
Napoli Preview
No one anticipated this. Over the summer, Napoli said goodbye to a number of veterans, including Lorenzo Insigne, Dries Mertens, and Kalidou Koulibaly. The decision to lose so many seasoned players within the same transfer window was questioned by many fans.
Despite the fact that Napoli is the overwhelming favourite to win what would be just the third Serie A championship of their entire existence, this season was expected to be one of transition!
Since suffering their first loss of the season on January 4 at Inter, Napoli has gone on a three-game winning streak befitting the upcoming Italian champions, and the Partenopei’s 12-point lead atop Serie A is starting to appear insurmountable.
When Napoli faces Jose Mourinho’s Roma on Sunday, they are the favourites to make it nine victories in ten at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Roma Preview
But this one might be interesting because of the Giallorossi.
Nicol Zaniolo, who appears to be leaving the team, doesn’t appear to have changed Mourinho’s mind about continuing. Although Tammy Abraham is returning to form, he does have a few other strong strikers.
Roma should capitalise on this opportunity, but it’s improbable that they will be able to upset Napoli at home, something that no other team has managed to do this year.
However, the visitors have gotten closer to the top four teams, thus Champions League qualification may very well be on the table. Roma’s season is still looking promising even if this results in a defeat!
1×2 Betting Odds
The visitors are in good shape, but Napoli’s powerful firepower in the final third might completely overwhelm them. In light of this, we think Napoli will once more score all possible points.
Napoli are on quite a run this season, and their odds of winning yet again stands @ 1.80. they are the favourites to win this!
AS Roma’s last away win against SSC Napoli was in 2018, and even in this one they are not expected to win, with market odds standing @ 5.20.
The possibility of a draw and points shared between the two sides, stands @ 3.99.
Total goals over/under
The odds that the total number of goals scored will be over 2.5, stands @ 2.03.
While the odds that the total number of goals will be under 2.5, stands @ 1.96.
Jose Mourinho’s sides always put more emphasis on defence, than attack! And especially the fact that they will be playing against a high scoring Napoli, that trend should continue!
Expect a close, low scoring contest due to the Mourinho factor, but nevertheless expect a win for the home side.
