BeSoccer have done all the research to find out who forms the top Serie A team for the year of 2020 and it is certainly a team that would make any manager envious if they were ever to come up against such a lineup.
Using data from ProFootballDB’s database of advanced metrics and analysing up to ten specific attributes for each player, they have managed to provide the best possible Serie A lineup that could be formed in 2020.
The team features a number of players from the same club, although only one Juventus player appears in the starting XI. Unsurprisingly, that man is Cristiano Ronaldo and it should not be a shock as the former Real Madrid and Manchester United superstar was the best left winger in the world last season, let alone just being the best in Serie A.
AC Milan have two players feature, with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Theo Hernandez both making the team. The rest of the defence is made up of Nikola Milenkovic and Achraf Hakimi or Fiorentina and Inter Milan respectively. Francesco Acerbi of SS Lazio rounds off the backline as the 32-year-old was statistically solid.
Fiorentina have been excellent recently and much of it has been down to the continued performances by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The 25-year-old shares the middle of the field with a duo from Atalanta BC, with both Remo Freuler and Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez each appearing after impressive campaigns. Having a midfield with these three in the team would have provided punters with some great odds if they used an odds comparison tool to work out their potential returns.
The attacking third of the pitch sees three of the most talented attackers in the Serie A at the moment, although with the abundance of talent in the division at the moment, it could have been any three to be honest.
As already mentioned, Cristiano Ronaldo already features in the final three but he is joined by Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi and Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku. The 27-year-old Belgium international has certainly enjoyed his football since leaving Manchester United and has since become statistically the second best striker in the world for 2020, just behind Bayern Munich’s superstar Robert Lewandowski.
The best manager in Serie A for 2020? That accolade according to the data goes to Inter Milan’s Antonio Conte, as he looks to add tangible silverware to his personal collection this season in regards to the Scudetto.
