With both teams having been in Cup action earlier in the week, Sunday’s Serie A showdown could be one that is highly important for both involved.

Atalanta will host Inter Milan as both teams had challenging Cup matches to play in on Wednesday night.

Atalanta faced off with Venezia in the Round of 16 of the Coppa Italia whereas Inter took on Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana Final.

After the challenging moments that would have been encountered, neither team can afford to rest too much as they will go head to head with each other at the weekend as they continue to look to achieve their aims for the Serie A season.

Indeed, a close match is expected, although Betway Sportsbook has priced Inter as the favourites to come away with three points, with a price of 13/10 having been provided. It should be noted, though, for any sports bettor who is interested in this game that Atalanta are only slight underdogs, thus suggesting that anything could potentially happen.

Naturally, it is perhaps easy to understand why Simeone Inzaghi’s side have been made favourites to win this contest as they currently sit at the top of the Serie A league table.

The Nerazzurri currently have a total of 49 points heading into the away trip, one point clear of city rivals, AC Milan, but they do have an additional game in hand on the Rossoneri.

Furthermore, despite the fact that they lost a number of crucial players last season, Inter do not appear to have been impacted too much, as they have only lost one of their league matches so far this season.

Atalanta, though, are no pushovers and have continued to show that they can compete with the biggest teams at the top of the Serie A charts in recent seasons.

The team is currently fourth in the standings at the moment, whilst Gian Piero Gasperini’s side managed to finish third in the Italian league competition last season after a number of impressive performances.

They have continued this season as they have lost just three games so far and continue to challenge for a UEFA Champions League spot once again.

If the meeting on Sunday is anything like the 2-2 draw that was recorded in September towards the beginning of the current campaign, then we could all be treated to a brilliant game of Italian football and one that provides a number of highlights.
