Sunday will see two of the heavyweights of Italian football go head-to-head as Serie A matchday 11 takes place.
AS Roma will host league leaders AC Milan at the Stadio Olimpico and it seems that they would be able to continue their own ascent up the table at the expense of their rivals.
According to some of the latest match odds, AS Roma are priced 13/10 on Betway Sportsbook to take the victory on Sunday, with Milan being priced at 19/10 by the same operator.
Of course, with the two sides currently in entertaining form, there is always going to be plenty of anticipation surrounding this match and one that many will not want to miss when it does take place.
Jose Mourinho is the current manager of the hosts and his side has had some rather contrasting results in their recent fixtures, including a shock 6-1 defeat to Norwegian outfit Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa League – a result they want to put right when the two sides meet in Italy next week.
When taking a look at I Gillarossi’s form in Serie A, it makes for some mixed reading, as October has seen two wins, a draw and a defeat all be recorded. The month started with a victory over Empoli but was then followed by a defeat to Juventus and a draw with SSC Napoli.
However, in typical Mourinho fashion, it would seem that there is already some unrest at the club despite only having been there a couple of months.
AS Roma, though, will enter their clash with AC Milan on Sunday, though, on a positive as they managed to defeat Cagliari, which is why some are of the opinion that the hosts will be favourites to win this upcoming contest.
AC Milan, though, are unbeaten this season and have won nine of their 10 games so far, with their sole draw having come against Juventus in September. Since dropping points then, Stefano Pioli’s side has gone on to win six games on the bounce.
Interestingly, they have gone on to concede two goals in three of those contests, but have managed to outscore their opponents, which is all that counts when going for the Scudetto this season.
When looking at injury news ahead of the contest, Milan could be about to welcome four players back to their team, with Ante Rebic, Pietro Pellegri, Alessandro Florenzi and Brahim Diaz all said to be closing in on a return from their respective absences.
