The Serie A has a plethora of quality talent with a number of the top teams having squads full of individuals that are known around the world.
Indeed, with the appeal that clubs like Juventus, Inter and AC Milan, AS Roma, SSC Napoli and many others all carry, it is no surprise that there have been an abundance of talent to have featured in the national league. Naturally, the talented individuals to have appeared have also attracted a number of bettors as well, with many using handy tools like a bet calculator to calculate how much you could win when placing a wager on the action.
These men, though, are considered to be the most valuable players in the Serie A at the moment, with transfer values provided by TransferMarkt.
Romelu Lukaku – £76.5m
Romelu Lukaku may have struggled during his time at Manchester United, however it seems the faith that Antonio Conte has shown him since arriving at Inter Milan has restored his confidence and taken him back to the top of his game. The Belgium international had an exceptional season in front of goal for the Nerazzurri last season, as he managed to find the back of the net on 34 occasions in 54 outings. Indeed, he has already hit one in one appearance so far this season.
Paulo Dybala – £72m
Paulo Dybala has seen his position at Juventus come under threat as he was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur last summer, however he appears to reaffirmed his place in the side. Under Maurizio Sarri last season, the Argentina international managed to feature in 46 matches but contributed with 17 goals and 14 assists. He is yet to feature for Andrea Pirlo this season, although that might be down to the recent injury issues he has had.
Matthijs de Ligt – £63m
Dutch centre-back Matthijs de Ligt may have only moved to Juventus from Ajax last season, making his value still rather high, however the 21-year-old has continued to show why there has been so much hype around his career despite it still being in its infancy. The defender featured in 35 matches across all competitions for I Bianconeri and averaged just less than one tackle per game in the Serie A (WhoScored), whilst proving effective in the final third with four goals.
Lautaro Martinez – £63m
Heavily linked with a move to FC Barcelona for what seems to have been an eternity, Lautaro Martinez is ranked as the fourth most valuable player within Italy’s top division. The Argentine forward was nothing but sensational alongside Lukaku for Conte’s Inter Milan last season, as his performances elevated his name into much of the football world. Like Lukaku, he is already in top form this season with a goal and an assist in his first appearance, although that is hardly surprising as he bagged 14 in 35 Serie A matches in the 2019/20 campaign.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic – £58.5m
Another player to have been linked with a move away from the Serie A in recent years, SS Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is the fifth name on the list of most valuable players in Italy’s top division. The central midfielder can play anywhere centrally in the midfield and has proven to be rather effective for his club. As of the 2020/21 Serie A season, the Serbia international has scored 39 goals and provided his team-mates with 27 assists in 207 appearances to date.
