Chelsea are thinking about a swoop for Atalanta left wing-back Robin Gosens. Blues scouts were reportedly in attendance during their 5-0 Serie A win against Parma on Monday.
Having only been in a position to bring in Matteo Kovacic in the summertime due to transfer sanctions imposed on them by FIFA, the Blues are now prepared to shell out again having recently seen their transfer embargo increased by CAS – and speculation has been rife about the kind of titles Chelsea will proceed for.
And while adding reinforcements that were assaulting are very much on the head of Frank Lampard, the Chelsea boss is known to be contemplating a strategy for in-form Gosens, who’s been among the star turns of their Bergamo side’s fast rise.
Based on Tuttomercatoweb, Chelsea have paid close attention to Gosens this year that has led them to earn a number of checks to the German. With the January window now open for business, the socket claims agents from the Blues attended the match in the Gewiss Stadium on Monday to have a closer look at Gosens’ performance.
And the 25-year-old did not let down the scouts, Gosens netting the third in the triumph over Parma after earning a fourth win in five matches since the side of Gian Piero Gasperini rose up to fifth in the table and turning in an impressive screen.
The 25-year-old German has spent two years together with the side, linking for a small $900,000 out of Hercales, and is now rated at closer the $18m (£15m) markers from the Serie A side.
However with all the players contracted to the club until June 2022, they’re unlikely to be in any rush to cash in on the celebrity, that wouldn’t be too big a stretch to get Chelsea.
Gosens has played 15 games and scored five times in Serie A this period, taking his tally to 11 goals in 82 looks, with all the wing-back also excelling during Atalanta’s Champions League campaign.
