Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri confessed he doesn’t understand how bad Demiral’s injury is yet, even though they believe it can be a bad one.
Demiral has been keeping de Ligt out of the group, despite his big money move from Ajax only last summer.
‘Demiral includes a sprain and we will not know any more until tomorrow morning,’ said Sarri from the press conference after the game based on Football Italia.
‘However, the feeling we have is that it may be a serious injury.’
Ajax are ‘considering’ an effort to bring Matthijs de Ligt back to the club after viewing his combined start to life at Juventus.
He’s been sitting from recent games following a dislocated shoulder, and speculation about his future has been mounting following Demiral held and impressed on the spot.
Demiral’s injury comes at a time when de Ligt has completely been outcasted from the playing XI. It’s the best opportunity for de Ligt to show he is a world class defender and his last year at Ajax is not a fluke.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers was interested in Merih Demiral and it’s believed he could make a third bid for the Juventus defender.
However, he can be put off chasing him in this transfer window based on how bad the injury is.
Manchester City and Everton are also studying the possibility of registering Demiral.
Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo was also stretchered off in what was a dangerous game for the players involved.
‘We would like to want Zaniolo all the very best,’ Sarri stated.
