Slovakien defeated Poland 2-1 (1-0) in the opening match in the Euro 2021 group E.

In the 18th minute, Slovakien took a 0-1 lead through an own-goal.

Straight after the break, Karol Linetty made his mark and equalised for Poland.

Poland’s Grzegorz Krychowiak was sent off in the 62nd minute.

In the 69th minute, Milan Skriniar scored a goal, from a pass from Marek Hamsik, to give Slovakien the lead. This brought the final score to 2-1.

Poland play Spain away on Saturday. Slovakia will face Sweden away on Friday.
