Netherlands started the match well and took the lead when Memphis Depay scored a goal in the 11th minute, making it 0-1.
After that the game came to a long, indecisive standstill without either team managing to score. In the 67th minute, Denzel Dumfries scored a goal, with an assist by Donyell Malen, to increase the lead for Netherlands, what brought the final score to 2-0.
With one game remaining, in the qualifiers Netherlands are at the top of the table while Austria are in third.
On Monday, Netherlands will host North Macedonia and Austria will host Ukraine.
