Roma defeated the hometown Fiorentina 1-3 (0-1) on Sunday in Italien Serie A action.
Fiorentina were left with a man down early on, when Bartlomiej Dragowski was set off in the 17th minute.
Roma started the match well and took the lead early when Henrich Mchitarjan found the net after 26 minutes, with an assist by Tammy Abraham, making it 0-1.
Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo was sent off in the 52nd minute.
With 30 minutes on the clock, Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic netted, with an assist by Erick Pulgar, and equalised.
With barely 30 minutes on the clock, Roma’s Jordan Veretout scored, from a pass from Tammy Abraham, and gave Roma the lead.
Jordan Veretout again increased Roma’s lead, with an assist by Eldor Shomurodov, in the 79th minute. The 3-1 goal was the last one of the game.
The last outing between the teams ended in a 1-2 away win for Roma in March 2021.
